epa02513431 Millangoda Raja, a 69 year old Sri Lankan elephant reportedly possessing the longest tusks measuring nearly eight feet (2.75 metres) showers itself in a stream at Kegalle a town 86 kms from Colombo, Sri Lanka, 02 January 2011. Millangoda Raja belonging to an aristocratic family in the hills is considered a treasure by them and used in work as well as in religious processions. Incidentally, Kegalle is also home to Sri Lanka's one and only elephant orphanage at Pinnawela where babies have been born in captivity. The elephant human conflict in the tropical island take a heavy toll from both sides with incidents reported almost daily.
